Nathan Speed 2 Waistpack with Two 10-Ounce Nutrition Flasks
One of the things I’ve been told is that I should train with what I plan to wear when running. That means find that plus size sports bra that isn’t going to chafe you while you run, or know how that fuel or hydration belt will feel when you’re pounding out 10 miles…you need to get used to these things, and not decide to just put them on one day for a race.
That makes sense…my problem? My size right now! I’m a plus size runner – so it can be difficult to find gear that fits me just right. After a major headache, I finally found that great sports bra, but hydration belts, well….I looked at the waist measurements and realized they weren’t meant for people my size.
I finally found this belt which fits because it has some spandex in the belt and velcro. I don’t plan on stretching it out though, and I’ll wait until I shed 2 more inches in my waist. I should be able to trim that off before my race – so hopefully I’ll start wearing the belt on my longer runs in January and February which will allow me time to get used to it.
People – fat people are trying to get into shape too, and we’re a huge overlooked market! Sell a belt extender – and you’ll make a fortune. That way I can keep using the fuel belt even when the extender is no longer needed. You’re never more aware of your size then when you’re shopping for athletic gear! Man, oh man…I’m trying here, but it’s not easy finding plus size running gear. With enough digging though, I’m finding some alternatives….
At least my sweat proof headphones were one size fits all! LOL
